Connie Campbell Horton was born and raised in Forked Island, LA Cajun French speaking parents who were staunch Democrats. After high school, she lived in New Orleans, and Texas before settling for thirty years in a liberal and progressive city, Portland , Oregon.

She studied at Portland Community College and Portland State University and worked as Technical Services Manager for sand casting foundries used the paper industry.

She moved back to Lafayette, LA in 2011 when her husband passed away. She wants to work with all communities to establish a better understanding of Democratic ideals and unifying its diverse population of Lafayette Parish.
