Tia Lebrun is an enrolled member of the United Houma Nation of Louisiana and a first-generation high school graduate currently pursuing doctoral-level studies in second language instruction. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and has earned certifications in French, Social Studies, ESL, and Educational Leadership. She was a third-generation single mother who preserved, an advocate for at-risk students and the human rights of women and girls, and now hopes to change the world in small ways everyday via organizations like Zonta International and the Democratice Party. Her professional position as an educational consultant working on behalf of English Learners, immersion learners, classroom educators, and literacy development support throughout the State of Louisiana has provided a humbling opportunity to serve our public schools.
